In this project, DBS teamed up with AECOM to perform a detailed 3D laser scan and developed a Revit model of the airport’s Baggage Handling System (BHS).
This initiative was crucial for the redesign and enhancement of the system, providing an accurate, detailed representation of existing conditions that were essential for effective project execution.

The use of 3D laser scanning technology allowed DBS to capture precise measurements of the airport’s baggage handling space quickly and accurately, minimizing disruptions to airport operations.

Building on the digital capture, the Revit model created by DBS served as a dynamic planning and design tool, enabling the team to simulate various design scenarios and make informed decisions based on real-world data.
This model was pivotal for the project’s design phase, allowing for detailed visualization and preemptive identification of potential design conflicts.
BIM MANAGEMENT
STREAMLINING PROCESSES DURING BAGGAGE HANDLING SYSTEM DESIGN
DBS also took charge of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination for the project. BIM coordination involved using the Revit model to integrate different aspects of the design and construction processes, ensuring all components of the building systems worked in harmony.
This was particularly important for the complex environments at PSP, where multiple systems have to interact seamlessly.
DBS’s role in BIM coordination helped streamline project management, enhance collaboration among stakeholders, and reduce the risk of costly errors or delays.
